Supervises the activities of the tradesman staff which may include part-time students. Confer with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, or design professionals to discuss and resolve matters, such as work procedures, complaints, or project-related problems. Plan, schedule, or coordinate construction project activities to meet deadlines. Prepare and submit budget estimates, progress reports, or cost tracking reports. Inspect or review projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes, or other regulations. Inspect or review projects to monitor compliance with environmental regulations. Plan, organize, or direct activities concerned with the construction or maintenance of structures, facilities, or systems. Study job specifications to determine appropriate construction methods. Investigate damage, accidents, or delays at construction sites to ensure that proper construction procedures are being followed. Prepare contracts or negotiate revisions to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers, or subcontractors. Develop or implement quality control programs. Coordinates with DCAM agency staff as needed for report submittal. Assist Director with department training including safety training. Maintains a library of building plans and associated documents and will assist in the selection and ultimately supervise a new computer-aided
Qualifications:
A degree in Facilities Management with experience in the educational sector or project management with five years of experience working in facilities management on a college campus required. Must have demonstrated working knowledge of facilities maintenance, custodial, grounds services, work order systems, energy management systems and project administration. Must possess good budgeting and communication skills as well as exceptional customer service orientation. Must have demonstrated ability to foster positive relationships and work collaboratively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
Preferred
Qualifications:
Bachelor-s degree in facilities management, business or a related field preferred. Demonstrated experience working with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
