7K - $124K a year 14 days ago 14 days ago 14 days ago The Regional Director of Operations is responsible for the overall management of the Executive Directors of one or more Benchmark communities.
In addition to managing the communities as organizations, s/he is responsible for innovating and implementing processes and procedures to enhance the development of talent and systems.
S/he is responsible for generating and overseeing new third-party management business for Benchmark and, in some instances, leadership as interim Executive Director.
The Regional Director of Operations reports directly to the SVP of Operations.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Analysis / Reporting Identifies trends and interacts with the Operating Team to develop and monitor action plans Completes and analyzes weekly labor variance reports Distributes weekly labor variance reports to portfolio managers Compiles and analyzes weekly spend-down reports Distributes weekly spend-down reports to portfolio managers Flash forecasts community-specific P&L reports twice monthly Forecasts monthly and quarterly P&L statements Assists SVP of Operations with monthly review of community specific P&L statements Communication Uses effective interpersonal skills Acts as a liaison with accounting department to answer questions and troubleshoot field accounting issues Compliance / Safety Participates in state associations and regulatory agencies Manages and reports all essential legal issues Financial Management Understands and demonstrates operating efficiencies and expense control; manages/leads net operating income Develops and implements annual operating and capital budgets Tracks capital expenditure budget balances Compiles and analyzes departmental wage adjustment proposals Identifies and analyzes group purchasing possibilities Miscellaneous Functions as a change agent in the field Chairs special committees and projects as needed Collaborates with others to execute BAL initiatives Organization / Prioritization Effectively prioritizes using time-management skills and can multi-task multiple priorities Collaborates with others to execute BAL initiatives Problem Solving / Communication Effectively presents operating results to senior management and develops plans and action steps to enhance performance Serves as a liaison between the field and senior management Researches the root causes of problems and develops plans to resolve them Effectively responds to and communicates about crisis situations Sales / Marketing Effectively manages sales and marketing with information systems, Marketing Action Plan's, critical success factors, etc.
Manages and builds client relationships Demonstrates innovative, entrepreneurial thinking in response to competitive trends and business development opportunities Tracks and responds to market trends Talent Development Effectively develops talent (mentoring EDITs, Executive Directors, and Senior Executive Directors) Recruits at all levels of the company Participates and encourages leadership development and the Leadership Institute Manages employee performance through the use of performance review, action plans, and progressive discipline Implements and adheres to training programs and processing Embraces and champions corporate growth, to include possible redesign of role Effectively adapts to multiple roles in one (Executive Director, Mentor to EDIT and Executive Director, Regional Director) Manages succession planning Vision / Innovation Tracks and responds to market trends Functions as a change agent in the field Chairs special committees and projects as needed Education:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources Administration, Gerontology or other course of study that relates to service to the elderly, preferred.
Previous
Experience:
Demonstrated, successful operations experience specific to independent, assisted, Alzheimer's, CCRC communities or related fields.
License:
Valid driver's license to operate an assisted living facility, if mandated by the State in which the community is located.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
