years experience developing and operating shelters and supportive housing programs for homeless families and individuals.
Emmaus is seeking qualified candidates for an opening in our Facilities Department for a maintenance worker.
Ideal candidates will have experience working in property management setting.
Requires basic knowledge of plumbing, small electrical repairs, general maintenance, the ability to use floor maintenance machines, and willingness to carry out cleaning duties as needed.
This is a full time position with generous benefits.
Position will work as part of our facilities management team to provide preventative, routine, facilities and emergency multi-site property management services.
Responsibilities include the general upkeep of residential apartment buildings and program offices with skills in basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry and unit turn over.
These duties include minor electrical and plumbing repairs, window, door and lock repairs, painting, cleaning, snow removal, landscaping, picking up and delivering supplies.
Requirements:
Ability to perform physical work and to lift and move heavy objects up to 50 pounds as required.
Demonstrated level of skill in one or more of the skills noted above.
Must possess a valid driver's license and be willing to travel locally.
All members of team must agree to participate in on-call rotation to deal with emergencies on evenings and weekends.
Must be able to communicate with tenants and staff in a courteous and professional manner.
Must be agreeable to a substantial background screening including CORI.
Ideal candidates will have a positive attitude and willingness to work in a team environment.
Must be able to read and write English.
Salary or wages will be based on education, capabilities and experience.
